Council Bushland And Creek Lots In Niagara Park

Central Coast Council’s community land plan of management lists Niagara Park lots in several natural area categories. A tree on any of them is council’s, not yours, even if a branch hangs over your fence.

Council classification Where it lists Niagara Park lots
Natural area, bushland Sylvan Valley Close, Glen Road, Delaware Road, Hamilton Close, Joppa Street, Alan Street, Siletta Road, Perratt Close and Pierce Street
Natural area, watercourse Pierce Street, Alan Street and Newling Street
Parks and general community use Several lots, including on Delaware Road, Dior Close, Karina Drive and the Pacific Highway

Contact council on 02 4306 7900 about a tree on any of these lots. The usual council exemptions for trees on your own land are on our home page.

Bushland and creek lots bring rules from other parts of the Central Coast. If your block backs onto bushland, the 10/50 clearing rule and national park boundary points on our Kariong page apply. If a creek is nearby, land within 40 m of the bank has its own rules, covered on our Erina page. And the neighbour tree law doesn’t cover council land, as our Koolewong page explains.

Before You Book In Niagara Park

  1. Work out whether the tree is on your land or on a council bushland or creek lot.
  2. If your home is beside bushland, check whether it’s in a mapped 10/50 entitlement area using the RFS tool.
  3. Check how close the tree is to a creek bank. Within 40 m, check the waterfront land rules first.
  4. Have the species identified. Threatened species aren’t covered by council’s exemptions.
  5. If a storm has brought a tree down, start with our emergency tree removal page.
  6. Decide about the stump. Our stump grinding page covers the options.
